Key Roles

Welcome! Scott and I are excited to start the 2018-2019 school year in Penhold Crossing.

I’ve called Central Alberta my home for the past twenty years. After graduating high school in Stettler, I attended Red Deer College before transferring to the University of Alberta. I had my first teaching position in Rocky Mountain House in 2011, after which I transferred to Innisfail High School where I’ve been for the past six years. Though I’ve been lucky enough to have taught a variety of courses, the majority has always been math and science from grades 9 to 12.

Outside of school I am an uncle to many nieces and nephews who always seem to be in continuous motion! As well for the past sixteen years, I’ve been coaching volleyball at a various levels from the community level to the post-secondary and provincial levels. It’s extremely rewarding for me to watch both students and athletes work hard and grow into their best possible selves. Whenever I have the chance I also enjoy running, cooking, and time permitting, travelling.

In the classroom, I’ve always tried to remove obstacles and provide the best possible conditions for students to succeed. Part of that has been ensuring students have not just the requirements for a post-secondary program, but are academically competitive enough to gain entry in whichever field they choose. Scott and I hope to continue that focus in Penhold Crossing, and look forward to working with students, staff, parents, and the community in doing so. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact one of us.
